FA rejects Manchester United's bid for more FA Cup final tickets | Football | The Guardian

Manchester United have failed in an attempt to persuade the Football Association to abandon its controversial policy of giving the FA Cup finalists a limited *allocation of tickets. The winners of tomorrow's game between Arsenal and Chelsea and Sunday's other semi-final, between United and Everton, can expect no more than 25,000 tickets each for the final at Wembley on 30 May. Wembley has a 90,000 capacity; the other 40,000 tickets will be taken by Club Wembley members and distributed to what the FA describe as "the football family" – including county associations, grassroots coaches, schools, referees, charities and football-in-the-community schemes

Thats absolutely outrageous.

Horrible bastards.

I'm ****ting it over a ticket, i got about 5 credits, my ST will be going back though if i don't get one.

Mate . Its 18 thou . Fact . Got told from inside the ticket office today . Or at least , thats what it was at 12 o clock . Its gonna be tough . Loads got 1 yday who havent got s tkts or had been to 5+ aways . Thats who will struggle . I see midnight queues around Goodison , once more . Nightmare .

Its gonna be close. I think the ST holders that have been to a lot of aways and all the home games will get 1. I just hope people like me who have only been to Home games get 1.

It aint my fault im skint BILL!

Excellent. I look forward to hearing that Utd have INSISTED that the FA reallocate the share of tickets it receives as part of the 'football family' to supporters of the team that put them out.
And if the FA refuses, that they take it on themselves to re-allocate the tickets to truly deserving Everton fans. If they can afford to play Berbatov to take penalties they certainly don't need the couple of hundred quid each they'll fetch on the black market.
I'm not greedy I'll just take the one.

Ive got a season ticket with only a few stubbs on it, even though ive been to away games and FA Cup games...all because i let my mate get the tickets :@

When the official coaches stopped at Warwick services last night, one of the Everton stewards was telling people that we're getting allocated around 17,000 tickets for the final. We have around 24,000 season ticket holders as of now. I'm not sure if anyone applying for and obtaining a 'new' season ticket now would be elligible.

So once again, the F.A are screwing the fans of the two teams who have scarificied their time, money and even their family commitments to follow Everton through wind and rain - in favour of distributing tickets to the associations and 'grass roots'. But the burning question is :So, just who should get the tickets? The answer is of course both obvious and blinding. The two teams involved.

Give the two teams 40,000 tickets each and then ditribute the remaing 10,000 or so to the associations and 'club wembley' mugs. Why should all these associations and grass roots people get any tickets? Yes, the competition is named after the Football Association, but do they really need around 50,000 tickets, after us and Chelsea have been allowed between only 17 - 20,000 tickets? You saw how the atmosphere was in the ground yesterday - it put a shiver down your spine. Now half that and imagine it being filled with school children and part time referees from Kent and Surrey who all support Liverpool, Manchester United,England and what ever team Beckham's playing for that week!

Nah, imagine it full of unshaven Russian mafioso with suspicious bulges in their badly fitting jackets and chardonnay supping wannabe media types who 'got a great deal on e-bay' (read: paid £600 but claim they beat him down to £200) .

The upside is that judging by the noise blaring from my computer yesterday no matter how many of their part timers cram in there, they will still not be heard. Or rather they wouldn't be even if they knew any of their team' songs.

The semi wont count . It was over-subscribed . Theres 3 more aways pre Wembley , thus those who go all will raise the bar even higher . Im sound meself , but Im sweating on the kids .

Desperately looking for tickets. Found a Dutch site just last week, who are specialised in football packages. Had the Man Utd vs Everton semi-final on offer for €299,-. That included a one night stay in a hotel + B&B and a ticket. The other semi was €459,- Already e-mailed them if they also will have Cup final packages on offer. Three of my mates already declared an interest to join up with me. Tickets or not though, I'll probably come over to London anyway.
