Those going crazy over little coloured squares aren't probably going to ever settle on here when there's far bigger issues at hand such as people buttering bread before putting pâté or jam on which is a f*cking outrage.

Why are you bothered about them or red dots? They're still going to gang up on you in some way no matter what the rep system is.
The old rep system, warts and all, was a centre of excellence...school of science stuff. Some used it to discipline, some used it to encourage but, in the main, it was all in an effort to keep a standard.
There is a clique. Not all upgraded members.
Il give you an example of how rep system works on here. If you don't get along with someone you get persued. For example. My thumbs up/down over the last 3 days has 15 thumbs down from one member. Posts that aren't even an opinion.
Also getting neg repped 5000 points with the previous system per post. Since joining 3 months ago. I worked out I'd been me repped 38000 points.
That's not disagreeing with someone. That's just a vendetta.
Biggest issue is the anonymity and the points. There's absolutely no reason to keep it other than for snideness, and it's not worth all the stupid arguments that it starts in the main thread.
The old system would work fine if there was no anonymity and there was either 1 point per rep or a limit on the number of negs you could give per day.

I know that. However neutral members also join in because they see red. You all disregard it as just red dots but you all know what goes on in the forum. Very hard to get out of the red when your up against people neg repping you 5000 points Everytime.
Il speak up about it. If I get banned so be it there's a clique and people who are above moderation.
