The Holy Trinity

Player Valuation: £10m
Firstly , let me apologise to anyone who is bored by these threads now but I've started so I'll finish !!

Now onto in my opinion the strongest area in the Everton squad....

Mikel Arteta

Mikel is quite simply brilliant on his day and since his return from injury he's been class again. In fact had he not missed a few matches in the middle of our fantastic run we might have made Europe again. His vision, ability to pass, create and his touch makes him our lynchpin at times. The thing I love about him is that he makes us tick , the one real defining change in our style of play came when Mikel went back inside. He comes and takes the ball from the centre halves which reduces the need for hoofball and gets us playing. Real top quality player IMO.

Rating 9 / 10

Steven Pienaar

This is probably going to cause a bit of controversy amongst people but for me Steven has been marginally (and I mean marginally) our most important player over the last 3 years. His ability to create chances out of nothing coupled with his willingness to run all day makes him a massively important player in our system. Unfortunately, it looks like Steven will be plying his trade elsewhere according to Source (although he said it could still change). However, I for one have loved seeing him in a blue shirt and have NEVER doubted his ability. I hope he stays but if not I'm sure Moyesie will replace adequately. An absolute class act..

Rating 9.25 / 10

Marounne Fellaini

Felli has been sensational since his move into the defensive midfield role. Those two months before the [Poor language removed] got hold of him proved that he could become one of the hottest properties in Europe after some commanding performances. A midfield two of him and Arteta is a mouthwatering prospect for the coming season. Felli is always comfortable in possession and can pick a pass. A midfielder who is good in the air and possesses a nasty streak this lad really has it all. Not to mention Great Hair !!! Going to be a massive star IMO.

Rating 8-5 / 10 (Potentially rising to 9-75)

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov

Bily for me could be the one to watch next season. I've already done a post on him a while ago listing his strengths. Bily possesses a great left foot and the goals against Man U and Portsmouth back that opinion up. I think Bily will benefit from a summer off and will be sharp when we kick off in August. Bily can produce something out of nothing and if he can learn to create a yard for himself when in wide areas and deliver crosses into the box then we could really be in business next season.

Rating 7-5 / 10

Timmy Cahill

Timmy is our talisman simple as that. A never say die attitude with a great eye for important goals sums up our Timmy for me. Yes he aint the greatest footballer in our squad but he's probably the most hardworking that's for sure. His conduct off the pitch in promoting Everton is also fantastic. He has scored the most headed goals in the Premier League which for a player that stands 5ft 10inches is phenomenal. I love Timmy !!!!!! A massive player for us.

Rating 8 / 10

Leon Osman

Leon has been a good squad player for us over the years. For a while Leon was important to us but we have in my opinion outgrown Leon now. I'm not saying we should sell him , far from it as he can still do us a decent job I just think that he should only be a sub for us nowadays. He's got great feet and can score important goals for us. However, this is tempered by his shocking lack of pace and his lack of strength.

Rating 6 / 10

Dan Gosling

Dan has weighed in with some important goals for us since he stepped into the 1st team squad. Dan is a positive player with a good engine but I'm not convinced that he's going to be a top drawer player. I do however think that he will be an important squad player and one who can fill a few roles when need be. He does have potential and hopefully will prove me wrong and become top drawer player its just that at the moment I'm not convinced as he doesn't have that burning pace or tricks and skills of Mikel !
I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Rating 5-5 / 10

Jack Rodwell

I think ALL BLUES were delighted when Jack committed to a new 5 year deal at Goodison. Jack has been at times fantastic for us whilst at other times has looked a bit off the pace. He has in his locker great qualities and never seems fazed by whatever game he is playing in. His energy in midfield has been breathtaking at times but sometimes frustrates me by not playing the simple pass. I do however allow him that as he is only a young player. He is very comfortable in possession and this asset is now the reason that Everton play better football now than at any other time in Moyes's reign due to the number of players who are comfortable on the ball. The Jack issue does puzzle me though as I don't see how he can break up Felli and Tets in midfield which asks the question which is his best position ? He is definately going to be a top player though whether it be in midfield or at the back (although I think he'd be wasted at centre half).

Rating 7 / 10 (Potential to be a 9)

Jose Baxter not seen enough to base a decent rating on but his lack of pace does worry me that he won't establish himself in the squad.

Let the ratings and arguments begin !!!!

Arteta - 9/10
Pienaar - 9/10
Fellaini - 8.5/10
Bilyaletdinov - 8/10
Cahill - 7.5/10
Osman - 6/10
Gosling - 6.5/10
Rodwell - 10/10 (and best looking imo)
Donovan - 9/10

I disagree. Mikel is an easy 9.5, Pienaar probably about 8.5

That's just my opinion like.

And I think Osman deserves more than a 6. He really is a cracking little player, if you use him right.

The rest are about right tho :D

I Did comment on his hair mate....

Yeah i saw it but thought it deserved a mark of its own rather than just a passing mention as its that awesome :)

Maybe it could be Pienaars replacement down the left.

And you know its the summer when you can't remember how to spell 2 of our players names, i had to check on both Fellainin and Pienaar in my replies cause i couldn't remember how to spell them!

Its nice to enjoy the summer without worrying about the Blues ! Enjoy the World Cup mate , footy with no pressure ! Ha Ha ... About being Pienaar's replacement , I'm just not sure that it would work hard enough.....
