Three Points about Arsenal

Went to the Arsenal game yesterday, like the majority of people, I'm very dissapointed to have dropped two points against them and another two against Leicester.

I've got three points to make about the match, do you agree/disagree?

ONE
Fitness levels are absolutely shocking. How can a team who have been in the CL mid-week & had players in the World Cup Final, be more fitter than us? You could tell after an hour, we were knackered and the middle players looked like they were ready to drop.

TWO
Without Lukaku whilst holding a lead, we are toast. I love Naismith, but when we're leading - he doesn't hold the ball up. We needed somebody yesterday to grab the game and say, you will not get in. Can Kone do that? I'm not sure - and if Eto is coming to us - can he do that?

THREE
The atmosphere at Goodison Park was electric. However, I was so dissapointed with the give up attitude of some fans. People pretty much conceeded we were going to lose the second goal. When we did, everyone left with four minutes to go instead of trying to rally around the team. We are supposed to be the team's TWELFTH man... and yet we were a disgrace.

Everyone didn't leave did they? Calling the fans a disgrace yesterday is a load of rubbish.

At least 1/2 of the stadium was empty after the second went in.

I'm not calling them a disgrace for the first 80 minutes - very good atmosphere and Z Cars was amazing. But after the first & second goals, there was no support... apart from a light chant.

Ones down to a more technical based approach to training as opposed to previous years and Martinez wanting to pace players for the long season ahead maybe? Just a hangover I reckon and if threes true, the crowd must have had the same problem.

The fans were excellent but after their first goal, we'll, we've been here before and knew what was coming. I was in the Paddock and a lot left as soon as the equaliser went in. Not a disgrace, but it did happen.

Have you ever though that some of us had to get off for a quick pint ? Think before you post m8.

It's not a disgrace at all alot of the fans had the right to leave early in anger at throwing a 2-0 lead away in 7 mins I've done it before myself and will undoubtedly do it again

I felt like we were holding back most of the second half, letting them come on to us. Then couldn't go up a gear when they scored the first. They shouldn't have been fitter given they had an EL game midweek.

Lukaku isn't a hold up guy. He's a steam roller. It's something he has to learn, and has stated he needs to learn. His touch and technique at the moment aren't up to it. Does highlight the need for another striker.

Did feel like it went quiet the second half. Hard for me to criticise, being half a world away.

i think we possibly need to assess the fitness issue at the end of the season. it's a world cup year where we had many of our squad playing in it and we'll have 50+ games to play, there is a possibility that martinez has accepted we weren't going to be fully ready (doesn't explain the behind door friendlies, but i think that was just for the belgians).

if you look around at the other top teams, neither have looked particularly sharp for the first game or two either.

i'd like to see the season be put back a few weeks in 4 years time, the quality on show so far has been a shambles, because we have all the top teams and quality players not close to 100% and all the rest are teams and players who are mid-table to below standard. siggurdson is the only player who's lit up the season so far - mainly because he's a bit better than mid-table quality and he didn't go to the WC.

we've had two 2-2 draws so far and i think both games have been a bit crap tbh - if i was watching as a neutral anyway.

once we're up and running we're away and will put some good runs together - it's probably a bad thing that we have all these tough fixtures to start with, but it may not be the worst thing either.

Hi lads I'm still singing Allez Allez Oh in the Park End right now to show my PASSION. There's still some of us left in the ground because we are so STAUNCH.

The stewards are going mad trying to get us to leave but we're Roberto's blue and white ARMY and we are still engaged in yesterday's event.

In ten minutes I'm gonna run on the pitch and do my ice bucked challenge in the centre circle after I was nominated by Stuart Barlow's cousin.
