Great Dane

Player Valuation: £15m
Seems he can't get a game at Celtic and has not been a regular in the starting 11. Don't think that he is in Gordon's plans for next season and they would be willing to sell/release him.

Now the question stands would he be a good squad player to bring back to GP?

He knows Moyes and there is a mutual respect and liking, he knows the 4-5-1 system as well as anyone.

I believe he would be good to have in the squad.

as long as he is free and accepts 15k a week then yeh, but otherwise nah.

I am always surprised by the negative reaction of some to any suggestion of TG's return. We do need quality squad players and imo he would fit the bill perfectly but, and this is the rub, he will have to realise that with this present squad he would not be an automatic choice. He has lots of European experience but he would have to work for his place, I suspect that is why he went to Celtic in the first place he didn't realise how big a prick friend Strachan can be.

If the stories eminating from Scotland are true, and think they are, we would get him at a rock bottom price or as part of a deal for BT, Strachan has managed BT before and admires him, told you he was a prick.

BT for Gravo...

I like that idea.

Rob, I think its a bigger runner than people think, how else can we get shut of him. I'm worried that because he is a nice lad people may want to keep him like a clapped out pair of slippers(y)

well, don't forget his southampton days, he has done well in the PL.

just been [Poor language removed] for us.

I think I'd rather we went for someone more long term. I was a fan of mad dog when he was here and think he loved the club as well but given his age I don't think he'd be the best signing for the club.

I championed this cause a while back when rumours were that he was sunderland bound...

I reckon there are still a couple of years in him, he has fallen out of favour at celtic - but other players have moved on and been successful - larrson - viduka. Tommy knows goodison and the majority of the squad - lets not kid ourselves he was a massive influence on our fourth place finish and i'd have him back in royal blue in a heartbeat.

Its not like he's an unknown quantity, and we need midfielders add to that he is a quality character that shows desire and steel and is capable of geting his foot ON the ball in the middle and distributing play.

I'd take TG back on two conditions:

1) Cheap to get him.

2) Wages aren't anything near what he was on here the first time.

My guess is he could get a better payday elsewhere so I think it's a moot point.

(I do think he'd get a great reception though if he did come back)

No Way, NO WAY, NOOO WAAAYYY, got the message now. We have moved on and so has he. He is 2 years older and really now not good enough.

he was the shining light when he played for us, madrid expected something different from him, and strachan hasnt been able to get his everton form from him.

bring back the mad dog, your kennel is waiting.
