Player Valuation: Free Transfer
The most notable and frequent rumour is that Birmingham are to offer an improved £4-5 million for McFadden. But, I've also heard if Portsmouth fail with a bid for Defoe, Harry Redknapp is prepared to offer £8m plus David Nugent for AJ.

If thats the case Moyes will use the £12m to purchase his number one target Downing.

So, does Downing and Nugent coming in seem a better option than Andrew Johnson and James McFadden. Personally, I think it is as Johnson is no more than a bench warmer with Moyes prefering Yak and Cahill just behind. With regards to McFadden... its just not happened for him and he is no left midfielder and Downing is a typical workman like player in what Moyes likes.

What does everyone else think?

I worked for Prozone for 4 years and still have reliable connections at Everton who are on the coaching staff.

It would be an interesting move. If Downing, Fernandes and Pienaar all signed permanently we would have some real depth in midfield. The Nugent one is obviously a bit different as his move to Portsmouth hasn't worked at all well but with Moyes seemingly settled on 4-5-1 it is perhaps sensible to allow Anichebe and Vaughan more game time.

We would really lack experience in the striking department - Nugent hasnt done much in the premier league yet and Anichebe and Vaughan are still very young.

Will never happen, AJ is one of Moyes's favourate players and recently signed a new contract. Id like to think these days we dont have to sell to buy players.

I honestly didnt take the idea seriously that those events could happen, but I'd like to see what more people think about losing AJ and Faddy and bringing in Downing and Nugent for them (y)

More crap posted by idiots with 20 posts or less.
I expect a red [Poor language removed] fan but there again they can,t spell prozone

Yeah, I wouldn't see a deal like that happening.

Mainly due to the Nugent + 8M. I mean they paid 6M for Nugent. Are they saying he's worth close to nothing now?

AJ alone isn't worth 14M. 10M maybe.

No matter. We finally have depth at the forward position and Moyes isn't about to monkey with the setup.
