Have you spoken to a professional in the industry right now with numerous years of experience to draw upon?

Apparently it's quite stressful, and deadlines and traffic and not having any time for keeping fit and eating properly and life on the road cooped up in a little cab, and weather, and never being home, and battling for contracts and never seeing anyone you know, and gaining weight, and there's millions of idiots on the road and and and.

If you know anyone who's a hgv driver ask if you can go out with them for a day or three before you commit any money to it. They'll probably be more than happy to have a bit of company for the day and it'll give you an insight into the job.

My advice is to get an automatic truck so you can concentrate on the other parts.

A woman I work with passed her HGV test last week. Her partner drives them and was always moaning to her how hard it is and saying she could never do it so she wanted to prove him wrong fair play to her.
