2025/26 Thierno Barry

You need to fight for every ball in the premier league. Defenders will push and harass you before you even get to touch the ball.

Your skill only becomes important once you match the other players for commitment. He doesn’t commit 110%. That’s what you need to do in the premier league.

Not sure if you can learn that. Some players just don’t like the physicality.

I think he’s got skill just not convinced he has the fight for this league.

Was like this going for headers and challenges against Roma in his first game for us.

Wasn't there a scam where someone claimed to be George Weah's cousin to get a Premier league contract (under Souness at Southampton?) - parallels with Barry here maybe?
no mate

pls where are u going with this

Barry's a French u-21 international, and I know its just u-21s but France has got an astonishingly huge talent pool so he cant be that bad.

there's a player in there, and its up to moyes to find the right system for him.

Didn't do anything, didn't give any glimpses of what kind of striker he is or what he might bring to the team.

Congratulations to Thierno Barry on finding 13 pointless answers, a new series record.

We've seen nothing positive from him which is a major concern seeing as he's not some 19-year-old kid ushered into the side.

He should be sprinting and hustling opposition defenders for as long as he's on the field, yet he does none of that at all. I don't think I've seen him even break into a sprint yet. This is not a good sign of a player desperate to make his mark.

He is likely in the best shape and condition of his life and so, unless there's something we don't know, has no excuse for at a bare minimum giving 100% physically in every game.

Obviously there's a chance he could still come good for us, but there needs to be about a 10-fold improvement to every aspect of his game.

Thought he worked hard yesterday and chased, won some first balls and had more fight than previous but palace had more of the ball first half and when we were going forwards we were all getting crowded out. We barely had the ball in their box first half despite having Grealish, Ndiaye and Dibling on. And if you watched any of our throwins Barry was the only one who made any movement. The rest were static.

Alcaraz made a big difference to our midfield presence second half and we found much more space for Ndiaye, Grealish and Alcaraz to run into. We also started playing it behind more.

We also saw the Beto of last season where he was physcial and aggressive which we haven’t seen in the last 3 games when he has been garbage. That Beto made swapping them at half time the right choice.

He just doesn’t look part of the team to me ? Just doesn’t look integrated ? When you see Beto he seems like he’s part of the team but Barry looks like an outcast. Dibling looked like an outcast too I thought ?
