2025/26 Thierno Barry

at more clubs with a history of more recent functional recruitment, Barry would have more time to get fully acclimated before being under the constant microscope of scrutiny as the other striker would provide something of even adequate to keep the rabid fans at bay for a series of games. So I think if Beto could even produce some more goals I'm not saying even being prolific just something it would oddly benefit Barry as it would alleviate the pressure on him to immediately deliver

I agree with the overall gist of your post but Moyes and Barry's teammates need to find ways to further incorporate him into the run of play , obviously Barry has to take actions to distinguish himself, but it's very difficult to achieve that aim if nothing is being provided
Agree. Scapegoating Barry is one thing - but Moyes signed him and deploys him. If Barry fails, that does not reflect well on Moyes, his judgment and his use of playing resources.

Hopefully the Moyesiah's cunning plan of gradual integration starts to bear fruit today.

Not even about him scoring a goal today for me. I just need to see if his overall game is up to scratch. Needs to link play, hold it up, show for it, make some runs, be involved. Very skeptical he will turn good but today could be the day.

Hopefully Seamus has been in his ear. Rightly or wrongly, we will give players MUCH more leeway if they are visibly up for it, knock people about, close down defenders under pressure at full speed. I’m sure he will be trying and focussed, just needs to make it very obvious. It’s not rocket science. That one game where Iwobi finally realised all you need to do is run around like a maniac and the crowd and teammates will go with you.

Think it was a mistake to put him back in the firing line today.

He might very well be as crap as some already think he is, but not a chance we’ll know for sure if we keep switching between hoofing it up for him to contest in the air, and giving it to Grealish at all costs which rarely, Illy’s goal v Brighton aside, results in a presentable chance to a central forward.

Unreal scouting to replace Calvert Lewin so well, obviously in the sense of having a player that'll play every 4th game, do nothing and should get a hat trick of tap ins.

Beto is decent in a system that suits him as he showed the second half of last season, Barry is not a footballer. Neither are good enough, but that is the difference.
