A symptom of "we're taking our damn time with transfers" that he's not even used to things yet. It'll be the same with anyone else who'll be "getting used to it" until November.

The thing is with strikers, the margins are extremely fine. They can go from looking lost and ineffectual to deadly very quickly.

It's a big ask for a young player to come in and play that position for us. Kean and Chermiti both struggled with it massively - we really need this not to be the case with Barry. I think a lot will rest of on how the team starts the season. If we struggle overall, I think he's going to have a really difficult time when he's on the pitch. No player gets isolated like an Everton forward when things aren't going well.

Kean and Chermiti has played about 40 games between them and were both still teenagers (I think, with Kean) making their first move abroad.

Barry has over 100 games in 3 different leagues. It's not really the same.

Of course any signing needs a bit of time to settle in but we cant fall for the young player making his way thing again. He should be more than ready to contribute for us, I will be fuming if he isn't (Not at him, the club in general) and we are looking at another "project".

You are absolutely right that he can't be miles off it. Has to be an option from the word go given how limited our squad is.
