I mean it's a song about injecting drugs, and watching Everton for the last 5 years has been like a bad trip so maybe apt! Also sung in such a high key I'm not sure I want to hear fans trying to sing it! Brings back good Uni memories for me though, good song.

That’s why you play it before the game just before the Everton ones kick in.
Yeah, if it's jus a song we sing here and there, that's fine, but it's not an anthem that's going to get us roaring, or that will be good to open or close the match. It also seems a bit meaningless to Everton.. is the attraction simply that it's a nice sounding song?

Good song by a Scouse band, which was written and sang by a big Evertonian.

Would rather that be playing before the game than some random pop song.

It's just a pleasant but weak and lightweight pop song, no strength in it to get us all and the team going.
Ah yes, unlike zcars! Nothing gets my blood boiling for a match like some old flute music. 😬

I know its sacrilege to say(and im ready for all the middle finger emojis), but i really think its time to leave that song behind us with Goodison. Maybe find something that would excite people born after the 1960s too 🤗

Sounds great with the crowd singing it there - so yes! Keep the old traditions becayse theyre the club, and start new ones for the new ground, BMD.

Certain songs just resonate with a fan base…look how we rediscovered ‘the spirt of the blues’ now it gets sung several times during a game

Their she goes yesterday seemed to just connect with everyone…maybe it was just the occasion, the easy to sing lyrics or melody…who really knows why?

Sometimes don’t question the magic…just enjoy it

Theres been a few Evertonian bands/musicisns over the years, The Beatles being most famous, and the La's, but also Shane McGowan was a blue, Ian Astbury from the Cult, Cranebuilders, The Dead 60s.

Obviously following yesterday, Bill Ryder Jones from the Coral, but think the rest of them are reds? Same with the Zutons, think a couple may have been blues but pretty sure they are mostly reds.

The Wombats are blues though as well i think, and im sure Gomez too?

Always heard the Corrs where blues as well, because their uncle played for us in the 50s.

Any more?
