2018/19 Theo Walcott

He has played in every single game this season. Why on earth do you hope or think that "Marco and Marcel" agree with you.

Money isn't as important to us these days. He can stick around and Lookman can push him every step of the way before finally taking his place, Walcott then will be a very useful squad player.

There is a reason he has played every game so far.

It does concern me that Walcott seems to go down every game at around the 60 minute mark.

Lookman, Bernard and Richarlison are all better on the left (or centre), even onyekuru is best on the left.

Walcott is the only natural right sided player we have and he has pace to stretch teams (thats the theory).

There isnt anyone else.

I cant believe that Marco and Marcel would sign Digne, Bernard and Richarlison for the left and then keep Coleman and Walcott on the right past this season. Its illogical.

They may not do, that doesn't mean you just bin them off though. Its a squad game and they are both useful. We don't need to worry about making a profit on every player these days.

Coleman will be here til he retires, I have no doubt about that. Walcott at the very least will be here even if we do sign someone else as we will need cover and someone there in case the new signing doesn't work out.

If Richarlison moves back to the left and if we sign a new right sided player then we would have;

Richarlison
Walcott
Bernard
Lookman
Onyekuru
+ 1 player

= 6 players for 2 positions.

Walcott is on £120k ish i think, 30 soon and we could get our money back on him.

My view is that Richarlison, Bernard, Lookman and a new signing will be the 4 in the mix with Onyekuru and Walcott punted.

We will see. They are nice problems to have either way I suppose.

When I see bale for Wales go around the keeper he takes it really wide to make sure the keeper can't get a touch, sadly with the he can't back himself to cut it back into the goal so seems to want to keep the ball closer to his feet and that gives the keeper a chance.

I like him, but when he got injured yesterday I hoped it was enough to keep him off the pitch and that speaks volumes. He was far from bad yesterday, but he was clearly playing without confidence and that's why lookman should definitely start for me now. The confidence he is showing when he comes on is night and day from theo's. Everything seems to be clicking for lookman now, whereas Walcott has lost that early season form.

wasn't terrible against Liverpool but didn't do enough again for me, that's half a dozen games or so playing not at the standard as most others

Lookman should start against Newcastle on Wednesday, he deserves a chance to start to see if he can do more

That chance in the derby was a brilliant stop by the keeper. Walcott did everything he should have done and Alisson got a finger tip on it.

Aye.

The only thing Walcott could have done differently was try and chip it first time, which would have meant taking it on his weaker foot, running at full pace, at a weird angle. I do think he has the capability to do that, but unless you're full of confidence it's not something you'd try.

Alisson made an excellent save as you say, and then it was an unlucky bounce.

His runs off the ball make so much room.

It doesn't help that Coleman is playing like a 17 year old again, so he's having to track back a lot.

Well Coleman was excellent on Sunday, mate, tbf. Mane only had any joy when he cut inside.

Walcott had to track back regardless because Robertson was pushing up.

All of our players played well the other day. That's the crappest thing about still somehow throwing at the very least a deserved point away, but oh well.

he's crap. Can't control the ball, can't put a decent cross in and can't shoot (he passes it at the keeper). The Bournemouth goal was a deflection, it hit the defender's foot as Walcott hit it thereby wrong - footing the keeper. He never turns up against the big teams, just wait and see over the next 4 away games.

I didn't watch the game on Sunday (driving my daughter to a concert) but I've heard that he was as rubbish/ineffectual as ever. One more away game to go, mebbe this will be the one we've been waiting for!
