Wasn't one of his best games today a lack of pre season games probably didn't help.
However when we initially signed him my concern wasn't his talent but his inconsistency which has been evident throughout his career including several times for us last season.
I hope that ,now we have options , we are ruthless with him when it is apparent he isn't at his best.

Could have had 2 or 3 seriously good chances to score if he was played in. Not really his fault if he makes a great run and isn't picked out.

He will never offer what Richarlison does on the ball of course, but he knows where to be and how to finish. Hopefully with more game time everyone can get on the same wavelength.

I wasn’t intimating that at all mate. He’s played about half a game in pre-season, hes nowhere near the pace, it’d be weird if he turned up in top form having just got over an injury.

If he’s still doing this in 5 games time you’ve got a point, right now though I think it’s grossly unfair and based on not a lot.
If he shapes up mate I'll hold my hands up to my harshness. As you say, we will see.

werent at his best, but couple of times he was in and wasnt played in, that one where tosun had a shot today was criminal the through ball to walcott was the easiest option

It was more of an analysis of a season's input (/38) games rather than a statistical observation.

The fact remains though that at 28/29 the game is still passing Walcott by. It happened countless times last season, it's happened again today because he didn't fancy it.

He didn't have a few bursts and run out of steam like youre intimating, he just didn't take responsibility.

Last season it was because of Sam. Today because of a lack of fitness. The reality, imo, is that he just cant be consistent enough. That's why he lost his England place and lost his Arsenal place.

On his day, one of our best but i predict we simply won't see it enough.
You're bang on about Walcott mate. I just dont see his value. Nice enough lad and all that, but it's a no for me.

I also think he's petreified of any 50-50 challenegs too - or any sort of physical challenges. He doesn't step up on that score alone for me.

I think he's going to be a relatively peripheral player some of the time, offering up moments of quality every so often that remind you why he played for Arsenal for so long. I wonder if he's worked on playing slightly within himself at times to avoid injury. Certainly appears that way sometimes.

Really good player overall and more than good enough for us. His pace and movement will pay out generously for us over a season, I wouldn't worry,
