Had 80mph gusts of wind recorded here today. Loads of trees down and road closures all around. Was supposed to attend a funeral this morning at 11am... this was postponed until 2.30pm when thever wind had settled a bit. Seems to be worsening again tonight though.

Half the year, maybe more. Was 40 in August (i.e. our February) my first year here. Suffice it to say when the temperature drops to a nice 25 or so, i've walked back from footie in shorts, kit and flip flops with my boots strung over my shoulder absolutely loving it and passed Paraguayan women bundled up like they are about to ascend the Andes mid-winter.
