Robert Jarvis

Player Valuation: £35m
Yes I am putting my head in the noose on this one. Is time to call time on Tim and wish him all the best as he makes his way back to Oz. Are we all living in hope apparently just like Moyes that Tim will suddenly find his scoring touch!! Lets face it, he has not been very inspiring this season....SO?

Is it time for him to make way??

No, he wont be dropped out of the first team, never mind the club.

Generaly when people doubt Super Tim Cahill and we have heard this question before, bang he scores in about six consecutive games. The midfeild has found balance agian and it will come. Im playing the loaytly card on this one.

Theres only one Super Tim Cahill - Legend.

Can i just ask in all seriousness, why do we want to sell all our players all of a sudden, when we've been moaning for half the season that we dont have enough of them?

I don't want to 'cash in' on Tim. He's welcome to stay at the club until his retirement, he's an utter hero. But I am beginning to think that his time as part of our strongest eleven is coming to an end.

A center mid of Fellaini, Pienaar and a fully fit Arteta surely leaves no room for Tim.

Consider, Fellaini, bad summer, lost weight, lost fitness, some bad performances. Cahill, Aus games, loads of traveling, no break, played left and right mid when called on as well as central midfield instead of AM, and has not been rested as yet this season.
Give him a couple of games on the bench and then throw him on in his position, not mopping up for others that are injured and see the dynamic salmon in the box he can be when he is at his best. He came up with a few headers today that almost led to equalisers for us, it is not a capability thing with him, it is a fitness/rest and confidence thing. As well as service to his forehead of course.

People want marquee signings, (Not necessarily people in this thread) and want to cut some areas to then be able to spend in others. Champ manager and the rest have plenty to answer for.

Most definately this. Makes me sad we're even contemplating this. The man is a modern day legend and has been our very own talisman for years. Last season, he more than anyone else was the one who saved our season. Let's not forget too easily. There's a lot of talk these days about players loyalty to their clubs. How can we expect loyalty from them, if we're not prepared to show loyalty towards them? Respect as the say, is a two way street.

Have confidence, he'll be back to his best eventually.

Cahill has found it hard to find his real form this season but he continues to work hard for the team. He is still a great player and i want him to remain at the club, but if he was to leave, he would certainly be valued at much more than the £8 million mentioned in this thread. He is worth £15 million of anyone's money in today's crazy market.

But you agree that at some stage he wil;l be past his best?

And at some stage he will leave EFC?

Its all about the best interests of the club and the team on the pitch. That means having the best possible players as much as we can.

If we could sell Tim now and get in a younger better model surely it makes sense to do so.

But if Tim is the best option we have right now it makes sense to keep him.

Problem is its impossible to say which is actually the correct option.

No harm discussing it though and no right or wrong opinion.

Meant every word of it. I absolutely love Tiny Tim to bits. Will be a very sad day for me when he eventually will leave this great club of ours. Never been one for player worshipping, but him leaving will most probably bring a tear to my eye.:(

I know it will happen eventually, butl think he still has some unfinished work here ahead of him.(y)
