Sharpys top lip

Player Valuation: £60m
So that's try and estimate how much off the wage bill?

Arteta 75k (3,9m a year)
Yakubu 45k (2,34m a year)
Yobo 40k (2,08m a year)
Beckford 15k (780k a year)
Vaughan 7k (364k a year)
Pienaar 30k (1, 56m a year)

So that'd be 10.3m a year off the wage bill

and as for fee's;

Arteta 10m
Yakubu 1.5m
Yobo (loan fee) 1m odd
Beckford 2.5m
Vaughan 1.5m
Pienaar 2.5m

Totalling 19m (less the £1m to Sociedad)

And what did we bring in? 2 loans for next to nothing?.

Great work Bill, absolutely top stuff.

Quite undeliverable really.

I think it's actually a good thing we got some of them off the wage bill. While we can all argue that we haven't maximized our revenue, we can't continue to spend the money we don't have. There's another thread with this exact content called Financial positives - Estimated savings thread.

Those 2 in bold are just ridiculous. Why would we pay that much for them two?! Baffling.

Anyway, if we don't do anything in January with those cuts, then I'll be 100% worried.

What's all this 'we' business? I think the word you're looking for is 'they'. They got us into a position where selling players was the only way they were going to get the banks to not kill the club they placed into peril by selling assets and borrowing, rather than them being competent at doing their job to generate income or attract investment.

So you don't believe I'm an executive at Goodison?

That would explain it!!

Haha yes. Anyway I hope those transactions esp the wages were enough to get our ship floating again with no need for further weakening. If we can't tie Fellaini up then it's ok we sell him too, but for that I'd expect us to reinvest the whole amount to the squad. Also, since we haven't bought anyone for a while, we should (soon?) be paying less instalments for the likes of Fellaini and thus earn more.
