Utter Cad.
Ah, I remember them like it was yesterday. Is it really over half my lifetime since they split? They divided opinion rather violently back in the day. You either adored them or spat angry insults out. Nobody, it seemed, was indifferent. Newcastle Mayfair, April 1984 remains the best gig I've ever been to, just about.

Of couese, we're older now and we're clever swines but these were the only songs that ever stood by me.

What say you, good brethren of the board?

YES , YES an' YES ....

No Question , for me ,..

i was indifferent, i reckon some of the Morrissey solo stuff is the business tho and i have a healthy respect for The Smiths. so its a thumbs up from me

It's completely different music, and normally The Smiths is more my kind of thing, but I just quite like his lyrics in the solo stuff. He's a bit of a pretentious, big headed [Poor language removed], but that's why I love him.

Lucky enough to see them back in 85 i think it was great band but they were very much of their time in my view but like all great bands they didnt out stay their welcome and left us with some classic songs there is a light is,i contend, sheer poetry set to music glorious song.

Morrissey's solo stuff, first album aside (which was all but a smith record) is watered down from that heady brew and is to my mind utter gash
