The Queen's visit to Ireland

In refrence to a quasi facist army set up in affiliation with Fine Gael - based on what Hitler and Mussolini were doing in the llate 30's - they wore blue shirts. They later went of and teamed up with Franco in the war over there.

As for Cameron he could have saved himself the trouble, i couldnt see their affiliation lieing anywhere else.

I read something about this period once at school. The name General O'Higgins sticks in my mind. I think they were less nazi/fascist than conservative nationalists who wanted to repel the communist 'hordes' and cement the church at the centre of the state.

On the menu tonight for Queenie and guests:

  • Cured salmon with Burren smoked salmon cream
  • Rib of Slaney Valley beef
  • Ox cheek and tongue
  • Carrageen set West Cork cream with Meath strawberries, fresh yoghurt mousse and soda bread sugar biscuits
  • Irish apple balsamic vinegar meringue
  • Irish Cheese Plate
  • Tea and Coffee
  • Chateau de Fieuzal, 2005, Graves Pessac-Leognan
  • Chateau Lynch-Bages, 1998, Pauillac

I would have said their basic policies were communist/facist in origan, national coopretives etc. I think they held a strong Christian ideal, not unusual of society at that time but noting out of the ordinary.

I'm not a fan of the Royals, but I can't for the life of me think what this particular Queen has done to annoy anyone ever.

All in all id say it went pretty well!
