The 'Post Funny stuff' Thread

Possibly the worst two goalkeepers in the history of football. A bit hyperbolic mind from the commentator.

This reminded me of the week I spent coaching a girl at our school who wanted to be a goalkeeper for the school girls' team. It was a great team, but it didn't have a keeper- so it was worth trying.

Nope ... some people don't have the aptitude- it was like this all week ... it started bad, it ended bad.

This will land me in huge trouble on here I’m guessing….. but it’s merely an observation….. whenever I’ve seen woman’s football the Goalkeepers are totally garbage….

You`d have thought that a girl who was outstanding at Netball, would have what it takes to make a good goalie ?

The hand to eye would be there, the catching ability and the ability to judge the flight of the ball.
Also the fact that the netballers tend to be at the taller end of those that play. Filling the net and dealing with set pieces. Interesting question, is a keeper required to do more with hands and arms than feet and legs?

Well yes... they'd have been ideal except they enjoyed the netball and never asked to play footie. This particular kid had all the enthusiasm and drive in the world - a poster girl for all those motivational posters and sayings .. but I suspect she had never, in her 13 years, played catch . . Not once. And a week's intensive practice made no difference! We both tried... her friends tried... we all failed!
