Not sure if anyone on here will know him; but he was one of the most loyal Blue's I have ever met, and I had to move to Australia to meet him. Originaly from Liverpool and ended up in Tasmania -

It was with much sadness that the Life members, committee, players and supporters of the University of Tasmania Soccer Club, learnt of the peaceful passing of our President Fred Joughin OAM on 30 September 2011.

Fred joined the club when it was formed in 1950, was club captain until 1955 and continued playing until 1982.

He was a committee member from the early years, being chairman from 1958 to 1978 and then president from 1979 to 2011. The club awarded him life membership in 1966 and a merit bar in 1978. Fred’s involvement with the club has never diminished being a regular spectator at games and presenting life membership badges at our recent dinner.

Fred was secretary of the (Southern) Tasmanian Soccer Association from 1951 to 1955, our club representative from 1957 to 1967. He was secretary of the State Soccer Council from 1959 to 1962. He was granted life membership of the State Soccer Council in 1962.

Fred received an Order of Australia Medal for his services to the world game in 2009.

Fred remained fiercely loyal to his Club (both University and Everton), his game and his ideals for over 60 years. Fred you will be sadly missed.

RIP Fred
