Good uns and Bad uns on every side. this fella is a good un. Still love ya though lads.

Which was the first stand of Goodison Park?

Well it depends exactly what the question is asking, as the title and the quote above ask slightly different things. Did they ask for the oldest stand still standing, or the first one built?

wolverton..... as it was...

'It is also telling that on the Heritage Open Day, amid all the historic material depicting Wolverton'proud railway past, nothing was said of the park's sporting heritage, other than a completely erroneous claim that the 1899 grandstand was the first grandstand in the country. It was no such thing. But it was one of the oldest surviving stands in Britain. In fact, although there are older stands associated with racing and racecourses, and older pavilions at cricket grounds, we know of only one grandstand at a sportsground that is older, and that is the 1892 stand at Wellesley Road, Great Yarmouth.

which is a beauty....

I meant the oldest stand and assumed that the first would have been the oldest, but I see your point...

Anyone know if the Bullens Road was the first stand actually built?

The Bullens is the oldest of the current stands, but if the original description of the ground is to be accepted then there were stands on 3 sides when it opened in 1892. I assume the large cinder bank would have been at one of the ends, but don't know which one - Goodison Avenue is my guess.

Which was the first stand of Goodison Park? Some dodgy pub quiz to which I didn't know the answer, anyone know?

I believe it was the Main Stand at Anfield...Same at Goodison by any chance?

The first stand(s) at Goodison were the Goodison Road Stand, the Bullens Road Stand and the Gwladys Street Stand (all completed in 1892). There was also a raised, cindered viewing area at the Goodison Avenue side (today's Park End). The first Goodison Avenue 'stand' was not built until 1906.
