I remember the old souvenir shop when it was under the main stand and they had a small box in the corner where they sold programmes from, this shop picture above i don't think i ever went in. Do people still collect programmes ? I use to pre internet but with there being so much on line to read these days i stopped buying printed stuff.

Yeah its true, sad in away, when i was younger i loved them but i think its a part of the football culture that the internet has put into the past. Ive got my dads from the 60s, and mine from the 80s, which are worth a lot to me but i don't think would sell for much apart from one or two special games.

Ye same with me only have special ones, like semi/final ones and a few others.

I still collect them! Got every home programme from 1974 onwards, and got a complete set of home & away programmes for our last 4 title winning seasons, dating back to 62/63.

Used to collect them(everton only) as a kid in the 80s and to this day have no explanation why we didn't produce a programme for the f.a cup 4th round tie with Shrewsbury in 82/83. There was over 35k there for the game but only a team sheet was given out to fans who went in the stands - remember when they were free if you sat down but not if you went on the terraces.

I am still hunting for a programme during the time Pat Nevin played for us. I went into this programme shop on the corner every game as a kid, the programme I'm after was a home game and there is a picture in it of my stood next to the away team dug out getting Pat Nevin's autograph. I think I may have had a replica Neville Southall jersey on but I can't 100% remember, anyway if anyone has the programmes from that time and feels the urge to go through them all and finds this picture I would be grateful to know the date of the programme and who it was against so I can try and get a copy. Cheers.

Looking through some old programmes - anyone remember this?

Used to love going in there as a kid and looking at all the away programmes from that season and saving up my pocket money to buy some. Nowadays you can just buy progs online from eBay etc. Back then it was far harder. This is from 1989:

I loved that shop.

When I lived in the States I went there every time I came home to buy all the programmes from that season so far.

Of course, that was in the days when programmes were interesting little publications which existed to keep a fellow apprised with developments at the club and two quid would buy you ten back copies.

Not glossy sales brochures.
