If we lose tonight I am not coming on this forum. Why? Because I can't be arsed reading all the "Old Chestnut" comments that are going to suddenly appear again.

Expect to read:

"Moyes Out"
"Has Moyes taking us as far as he can?"
"The board havent backed the manager"

When in reality there is only element that can be blamed for us not progressing and that is poor ref decisions in Europe again. Oh and poor finishing by the star striker.

When I noticed that this forum was going to be the extension for ToffeeWeb I immediately realised that the negative vibe over there is most certainly going to translate over here, god only knows why the powers that be agreed to join forces with such a cynical organisation, I can't really see the benefit, unless it was a financial one. If that's the case, what can you do?

Some may say don't post on here if you don't like it, well that may well happen. Such a shame we opened the floodgates to the rabble.

you started off alright there, but tailed off.

you setup a preemptive strike then forgot to deliver the 'coup de gras'

could turn out to be ironic, so much promise only to be let down at the finish (think about it ;) )

If we loose then I dont think any Everton forum anywhere on the net is gonna be a good place to be if you want optimism.

In any case, we aint gonna loose Ghost.

I agree, you have to have a mix or otherwise you get an extreme. Who wants a forum where we're overly optimistic for no reason. Its good to have a both perspectives, and then any intelligent human being can make their own mind up.

Well even if we lose 5-1 tonight, I'm not going to want the manager out, and I'm not going to hammer on about the usual crap that comes out of the uneducated fan. (no one in this thread...so far)

As it turns out I'm contracted to work 3pm till Midnight now so I am going to have to knock it on its head so I can not get distracted.

Yeah thanks, but I want to read intelligent opinions, and not knee jerk opinions which is what happens. Ah what am I saying, its the case the world over in football, I may as well be asking why Dida decided to cheat - because that's just the way it is. I suppose I can select the ignore option on posters who make knee jerk reactions.

I suppose it happens at all clubs, the immediate aftermath of a match sees fans awash with euphoria if we win, coupled usually with over optimistic prophestations of success, or if we lose the depression kicks in and prophestations of doom arise.

We're far from great and we're far from crap. The trend is a generally positive one however and we're moving more towards the great than we are towards the crap, and the result tonight will do little to change that, whichever way it goes.

It's certainly understandable why some members choose to stay away after a poor result because it's easy to let your emotions run wild and get carried away with the poor showing that preceeded the trial by forumite. For those that do have to get their daily dose tonight, however we do, simply try and maintain a sense of perspective for the sun will still rise in the morning :)

I guess that's what Ghost was trying to say anyway.

Not once have i ever said ' Moyes Out ', whatever the results that thought has never entered my head, the same goes for tonight's game.
I will probably stay off this site for a few days if we lose, the feeling after the first leg was of complete and utter despair, if we lose this one i can only imagine that's it going to be so much worse.
But not to worry, that ain't going to happen, we are going to win.
