The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Perhaps. But something is going to have to give. Fail to recruit in creative positions, and we may well be gone too.

I'm not suggesting we should sell Branthwaite. But I'm also not saying "PSR means we can do nothing in January".

Something will have to give unless we are prepared to run the risk with what we currently have.
Beto/DCL probably.

If neither of them then Armstrong has plenty of suitors. Can’t risk selling Branthwaite as that’s the only part of our team functioning.

Agent Godfrey, your time has come.
Ipswich are being proactive and trying their best to stay in the division...the opposite of us so far. Not strong link as of yet for us despite our lack of depth and quality in the squad, which is the worst of the division. Ipswich might end up being relegated, but they are trying everything not to.

Who do you replace him with?

Some off the names mentioned over the last couple of days are unattainable. Neither Frank or Iraola leave their current positions to come & why would they? - in time, with steps of progression, then naturally they are obtainable, but not at present.

It does seem that some, probably the majority need an honest acceptance of the current level of the club - the first aim should be to survive, and if the you cannot guarantee that the next guy in is better than the current manager surely you stick, not twist?
Be a manager out of work potter or somebody but i just cant shake the rumours of moyes esp with ranieri at roma thinking a 1.5 deal. See us this season and Next . But we need something just this squad and fans just lost faith in the manager

and they might not be relegated

and we could

It’s Southampton, us and one of the other teams. We’re gone until a change is made.

Our squad is bad, but not so bad that there’s no manager out there that can’t get a tune out of it.

Moyes is already clear he doesn’t want to be in a relegation fight but not sure which other clubs in the premier league will give him a chance so would he really pass it up the chance of coming back. You’ve got to hope TFG had a list of candidates already in mind but squad wise we aren’t a great prospect for any incoming manager and we’re not exactly flush with cash.

Our final home game at Goodison is against Southampton. Based on current evidence, this fixture is looking like one we may well need to win in order to retain PL status for BMD.

Considering we have already lost to them twice this season, there is a worrying high probability of an Everton that moment in this last fixture at Goodison.

Maybe he isn’t interested in coming back into the premier league? Maybe fancies somewhere different, abroad or something.
