The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Not happening.

I do admire your (blind) optimism. You were right in 22/23 when it looked a hopeless cause at this time of the season. Strangely you seemed more negative last season saying any points deduction would relegate the team but didn't happen.

All I'd say is people are not very optimistic because the team never wins away and wins very few games at home. Generally teams that hardly ever win don't survive comfortably I'm afraid.

Having a comfortable season is what Brentford are doing. Regularly winning at home and now they're playing a few more poor teams away they'll likely improve their poor away record. They'll be safe by March and Palace probably won't be far behind them.

I dont know how he kept us up. It was a major effort and a real feather in his hat.

Maybe we should be loyal to him right now?

I think this could well be the year.....

We have zero goal threat apart from Ndiaye and set pieces. And as tidy as Ndiaye is 2 league goals won't do it.

If we finish January with these attacking players and don't sign at least a right winger and goal scorer then we are gone.

DCl
Beto. Stone Cold useless.

We have many more problems.

Dyche could be sacked but what manager is going to be able to change this style of play in 19 games..... With those players. Checking other teams scores has started already. Ipswich, Wolves and Leicester all have more threat that us.

Disgusting another season of this
I think unfortunately the inability to properly invest in the squad due to PSR over the last 4 years, and the standard of players bought where we have spent money means the squad needs a complete overhaul bar 3 or 4 players, Pickford, branthwaite, Ndiaye and Mangala who I think are good players/young enough to develop

You look there second half and we have Ashley young, Patterson and myko as 3/4 wing players, the full backs are not premier league standard and can't expect Young to be a premier league standard right winger at 40

We have no threat in attack and centre midfield that play it safe 90% of the time, Doucoure is in awful form

Going down unless things change sharpish

The only straw clutching I can think of is we are in a run of playing some of the better sides, forest are flying and Bournemouth are 7th and 8 unbeaten, but the hard thing for me is we haven't laid a glove on either sides

First game I've watched without a drink. (For a while anyway). I'm mulling over a dry January. I normally have a few beers watching us but it's to make me jovial not drown my sorrows watching us. Been so long since I thought we could win and win with style.

No. Why apply the Peter Principle?

We should have shaken hands with him last summer - and would have had these owners not done a u-turn and walked away when the club was theirs for the taking.

The Friedkins have a lot of account for in this position they find themselves in. They need to be decisive for a change this weekend.

That's 2 of newly promoted sides losing this weekend, badly need Ipswich to lose tomorrow, that's what we're relying on the current bottom 3 losing every game
