For those people wondering if this fixture will be moved to the Monday night (3rd ) Oct for the TV i would very much doubt it as there are European Championship Qualifying games on the following Friday so this would probably stay on the original date(1st) Oct and guaranteed TV coverage anyway.Manchester United at home also looks a safe bet for the Saturday as there are Champions League games the following midweek so i can't see that being moved either

Once again we get them at home first. Such a fix. Swear it's been at Anfield later in the season for about 10 years now.

What's the problem. It's not a European match. Away goals don't count double if it's a draw on aggregate.

Dont think anyones saying its much of a problem mate , but is it not a tad strange to be playing your local rivals at home 1st for 12 straight seasons ?

Like , worth asking why this is the case , are the fixtures random ? If they are then its one crazy coincidence , or is there an agreement of some sort to have the 1st derby at Goodison .

Of course the fixtures aren't random, Sky would be at far too much of a risk if that were the case. Imagine if the draw happened and there were no 'big' games for the first 2 months and then they all happened on one weekend. There's too much money riding on the premier league for it to be random, at least by my reckoning.

Oh and the chances of getting the same Derby order 12 times in a row is 4096 to 1. Take that as you will.

I personally would much rather have the away derby first. As I'm sure Liverpool do. Which is why it's always at Goodison first. I can't really explain why. It's just better.

The business end of the season you want your big games at home. I can't see us chasing Liverpool much though this season. This time last season I thought we were a dark horse for the champions league. This time around I can't see much better than top ten.
