Don't know if anyone caught this series on the BBC...About a guy Mark Beaumont who climbed Denali in Alaska (highest mountain in N. America) then got on his bike and cycled the length of N.America/Central America/S.America and finished by climbing Aconcagua in Argentina (highest mountain in N/S America).

If you missed it you can catch it here

Very poignant for me as I've climbed both Denali and Aconcagua (but missed out the cycling bit in-between).

Check it out...

Beaumont was 'the man who cycled the world' a year back. Thought this series on the America's was inferior, to be honest. He doesn't have that travelogue style of presentation and the sightseeing broke up the feeling he was on a mission. The 'world' series he did was better tv because you got the feeling he was racing against the clock (as he was) and battling the elements a lot more (which he was). A bit more relaxed the 'Americas' effort.

Just climbing Aconcagua nearly did me in.....Never mind the cycling, bears, and banditos

Pffft, takes Bundy longer and more effort to go down the shops but you don't see him making documentaries about it.
