Van der Sar- Probably right.
Sagna- I think Ivanovic, Richards and Rafael have done atleast as well.
Cole- Not a vintage season by his standards. Should definitely be Baines.
Vidic- Fair enough. Koscielny has done pretty well for his first season.
Kompany- No complaints.
Nani- Should have been up for Player of the Year.
Nasri- Yep.
Wilshere- Can't really argue. Yaya can't have been too far away. Van der Vaart is another. Nolan has had the season of his life.
Bale- Of course.
Tevez- No doubt.
Berbatov- Fine. Carroll has been very good. Hernandez as well.

The Championship Team of the Year is normally a handy guide for players that we might be able to pick up.

Kenny (QPR)
Naughton (Leicester/Spurs)
Harte (Reading)
Williams (Swansea) 26. Successive nominations for Team of the Year. Welsh Footballer of the Year 2009.
Morgan (Forest) Age 27.
Taarabt (QPR)
Sinclair (Swansea) Age 22. 17 goals in 35 games.
King (Leicester) Age 22. 32 goals in 133 games for the Foxes from midfield.
Hoolahan (Norwich) Age 28
Graham (Watford) 25 years old. 36 goals in 82 appearances for Watford. Entering the last 12 months of his contract.
Holt (Norwich) Age 30

Maybe Williams could be the next Lescott? Perhaps we could agree a deal with Leicester swapping Yakubu for King? Would Danny Graham be worth a cheeky bid?

It's a complete injustice that Baines didn't get in team of the year, he's been fantastic and Cole has had one of his worse seasons by his and Chelsea's standards. I wonder who the runner up in the position was though, not that we'll find out of course.

I doubt Leighton will be bothered, i think Davy will have something to say about this.

Both Scott Parker & Charlie Adam are nominated for the PFA player of the year, yet they don't even get into the PFA team of the year. Bit odd that is...

Am I the only one not bothered by this? When Berbatov get in the 'team of the season' you know it's a joke straight away

To me Wilshere is a bit of an over rated little **** who thinks he is some sort of Tough Guy on the pitch sometimes-ha would love to belt him,you seem to have no chance as said unless your based in London-bloody stupid

Agree, can't see what all the fuss is about with him. Dives more than that little Tom bloke. Don't like him. total A hole.

Have to say thats fair enough! Another Londoner though!

Yep, I'm a fan of Parker and as that write up says, they would already be down without him (think they will still go down, mind)

Nice to see it not going to someone so obvious

I think VanDerSar is a bit overrated. That being said no goaltender has really lit it up this year (except for Hart in the 1st month), so I could live with it.

Kompany - Distin was better in my opinion but he had a good season and City is the best defensive team this year so no complaints. Wish Moyes would have pressed harder to get him in the Lescott deal.

Wilshere - ?? He's decent, but better than Van Der Vaart? No way.

Ivanovic is better than Sanga.

Cole - dogs--- lazy choise. I guess Baines has to go to another squad and get in the tabloids to make a better impression on the voters. Ask anyone with any knowledge of footie who they'd rather have. When was the last time you saw Cole get the better of a good winger/fullback like Donovan?

The rest of the squad are decent choises.
