Believe he spent an awful lot of his time in Paris, grew up in French Algeria, became very good friends with Jean Paul and the rest of the French philosophers. I honestly don't know all that much of his personal life. Just his books.

Didn't realise that they hung out mate, I had always thought that there wasn't an 'existential' movement as such, just a loose collective that Sartre brought together under a purely conceptual umbra.
