/waits for somebody to say Steve McClaren........

What made me laugh was and im not even sorry for this, but somebody the other day suggested Darren Ferguson, thats the most comical shout ive heard in a LONG, LONG time.

Anyway, its all good, I just need to sit back and wait for Moyes to wave his magic stick, make us great again, im taking names, prepare to be bookmarked.

I hope im proven wrong!! but i doubt it ;-)

watch out people.

Goat runs a tight ship here, firm but fair. Blurts calling for Moyes to be sacked will be shunned.

Its about what we spend net every season. Yakubu wasn't considered fit to start. Saha is injured. Vaughan has missed loads of football so has been farmed out. The rest are considered developmental projects.

personally I'd include Beckford in that group.

Money wasn't the issue at Newcastle. It is a major issue when you consider Moyes tenure over the last seven years or so, and appraise it. Rather than knee jerk spazzing out on this forum after every defeat. People calling for a managerial change are hopelessly premature and practically the definition of delusional.

still waiting for the name of this mystery genius whose gonna step in and lead us to the Champions League on a few million a season. Spurs have spent 40 or 50 mill every window and only managed to break in there recently on the back of Liverpool's fall from grace and some good stewardship from Redknapp. I can think of one manager who managed to finish in the top four with little money spent - but he already is our manager. Bollocks. Maybe we should sack him.

I haven't in this thread, or any others, called for Moyes to be sacked? I was quoting that a few people were saying how Moyes hasn't spent money yet on fellaini and billy alone is 28 mill.. And that's the last few window's..

First of I doubt people are saying we haven't spent money. But comparatively we have had little to spend. we lost a very good player in Lescott recently that funded most of this "spending". Champions league teams are not in the habit of selling players against their will. They have the resources to keep those players. Its part of the reason why they stay up there

Its not all about whether you've made the odd key purchase like Fellaini.

We can't afford a Champions League calibre striker at the moment, its the reason why Moyes has bought so many young strikers - he's hoping he can discover one early rather than pay 20 million for one.

And we needed to invest in a winger - its why we bought Bilyaletdinov. Its still early doors for him, but its about time we started seeing some payback. Whatever he is showing in training isn't enough to earn him a place on the starting 11. This is a worrying trend. But then Moyes has had few high profile transfer failures. It maybe that Bily will become one.

I still think though that this season he will come good. very good.

I think Martin Jol is a very capable manager, on a similar level to Moyes, albeit different in terms of style. He had Spurs playing some excellent football and had some good seasons with them. If Moyes was to leave, or get sacked, then I wouldn't be majorly disappointed to see someone like Jol take over.

As for Bilyaletdinov, you have to question why he wasn't sold in the summer. Certainly if Moyes has no plans to use him as a regular, which seems to be the case. We don't have any money, granted, and it's not easy for Moyes in this area, but clever management was needed in the summer. We where in need as a right sided midfielder, he's said that himself, yet he's still willing to keep hold of a squad player who cost 9 million and is still behind Leon Osman in the pecking order, which in all honesty, is quite embarassing really.

He scored some stunners last season, and showed a glimpse of potential. Whether we could have sold him is another matter. Did anyone bid for him? Chances are we would have lost money on the transaction.

But I agree that a dedicated winger that costs 9m should be starting games in lieu of a central midfielder being played out of position.
