If he doesn't start at the weekend I'd have no qualms with him asking to leave in the summer, because it would be clear that form and quality come second to being one of Moyes' special favourites.

So who do you think should partner Heitinga?

To be honest, i dont rate Distin that much, he is getting on and is prone to mistakes. I would say Jagielka but they are very similar in all honesty - it would be interesting to see them both together - i dont know why we havnt actually.

This season the best pairing has been with Duffy - they were great together, only saw 2 matches (or was it 3?) of them together though

Said that to my Kopite friend on the way home from the game. Jagielka was clearly off the pace and even if he wasn't what has Heitinga done to be dropped ?

I could MAYBE understand resting Osman after the performance and amount of effort he put in on the weekend (having just come back from injury), but resting our best CB in the derby ? Madness.

Guessing Jags inserted only to keep Heitinga fresh for Saturday. Not a case of favorites one hopes.

If that's not the case, will join the fume thread.

Oh, and just went to #1 for POY for me.

Johnny wouldn't allow that to happen, as he would've cleared the ball, or made a tackle to stop him in the first place.

Or just roundhouse kick him.

Wouldn't need to roundhouse kick him. He would've just made eye contact with Gerrard....the rest would've been history.
