From what I know mate, he is a Brazilian born(But an Italian citizen) defensive midfielder that has made 8 senior appearances for Brazil scoring once since 2003. He needed surgery to rebuild the anterior cruciate and lateral ligaments in his left knee in 2004/2005(but came back swift scoring on his return match) and niggling injuries before and after that(would seem knee injuries are a re-occuring factor). He is a quality midfielder that can attack swiftly and change a game like most holding midfielders can't. He has the weaponry and the tools that would be useful to us to be honest. Myself, I believe his fitness could be a huge worry for us. He has to be skillful as in his professional career Barcelona have never let him leave.

quick stats

Years Club App (Gls)*
1999-2001 FC Barcelona B 101 (19)
2001– Barcelona 138 (9)

He has held the number 3 shirt for a few years and still does, so he was always classed as a starting 11 player. (proves quality in itself). Too much competition has seen his place taken too many times and now he does not fit into their puzzle. His body strength has improved recently though as competition has been the reason he has not played much recently, not injury. If his fitness can be proven I would have him on a free on a half decent wage. But west Ham will probably take him or Man City and pay over the odds wages.

Check this link out for a decent break down of games and goals over the last 8 years.
