The Flu

Anybody had it ? Anybody got it ? I've had it for a nearly a week, paying through the nose for cold 'remedies' which, if they've had any effect, is about as noticeable as a Moyes attacking plan against the top teams. I could fill a reservoir with the phlegm I've coughed up.

The doctor's sage advice was to keep warm, drink lots of fluids, and finished with, there's a lot of it around - thanks a bunch. So, alternative remedies would be most appreciated, providing of course they work, and don't involve eating raw eggs and the like.

Got the shot about 3 weeks ago, first time I've had any sort of reaction to it...probably because of my 💩 kidneys. I'd probably be on the floor if I got it without having had the shot.

Sleep and plenty of it, if you can manage.

….for some weird reason I’ve never been one to have colds or flu. Now I’m approaching my 70s I’m regularly prompted to have a flu jab but I admit to being reluctant, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Think it's a bit to do with lifestyle. If you have young children and grandchildren you're probably more at risk from imported viruses. Plus the usual general health issues. We only really know how good our immune system is at the end of the Winter/Spring period if we've navigated it unscathed.

I got it really bad in Finland last year, completely stuffed up my last week of holiday, lying in bed for a few days completely delirious couldn't eat or drink anything, shuffling 5 steps felt like a marathon. Reckon I caught it off public transport in London as we were there for about 5 or 6 days before Finland and remember starting to feel a bit rough when I caught the train up to watch Everton in that time.

Flight home to Sydney was brutal with it and still wasn't right for about 2 weeks when I got home.
