I know it`s a clichè and all that, but the fact is that we have four very talented footballers at our club. I don`t see the media trying to hype them to much and now everybody`s aboard the Dier/Alli-hypetrain. So I think it is up to us as supporters, to build some myth and legend. I have never seen The Holy Trinity or the Golden Vision, but I`ve seen the Fab Four and I demand that someone with the know-how makes tributevideos on Youtube, and someone to write songs and poems, because I want to be able say in a few years: "Remember the team that won all there is? Oh, the Fab Four could really play!" Come on! Let us create legends!!!

the more hype, the more likely it is they will be sold.

Long may they continue to be crap for us.

Everton will never grow in stature if that is how we look at it. At this moment, we have four of the best young players in the game. The fourth goal against Villa was a revelation and personified what the Fab Four is all about! I want there to be hype!

Tbh mate, us Blues hype our players higher than any other set of fans imo, and sooo many times they fail to live up to it.

Did McCartney really get replaced in '66-67?

I'm web-sleuthing it at the moment and there's some really weird conspiracies about it. The biggest thing for me is his height. He's noticeably much taller in '67 than he was in '66, which could be a growth spurt, but at 24 years old?

I happy to bin all of this nonsense off from now until we win a trophy. Once they've earned some silverware we can start inventing silly names for them.

I see the OP's point but I really dislike this "team within a team" dynamic.

Wasn't it Brian Labone ( a legend ) who observed that our 1969/70 title was the first ever won by a three man team? He was revealing his frustration at the hype around Harvey/Ball/Kendall which effectively locked everyone else out of getting credit.

Imagine what Andres Iniesta thinks of all the "MSN" stuff at the moment.

I think these "teams within a team" are bad for team morale.

Hmm my snidey senses are tingling

Indeed.

Pretty obvious attempt at trolling.

But I don't mind on this occasion as he has provoked a bit of a debate.

Far from being "bad for team morale" as @rbm suggests, I think the emergence of this "Fab Four" is the biggest morale booster the club has had in decades.

Well, since Wayne burst in the scene anyway.

The supporters cannot wait for the next installment and the senior players seem to be loving the free flowing football these four lads are enabling the whole team to play.

Barry's comments in that interview reads like an elder brother taking great pride in how his younger siblings are growing up.

The publicity bring generated by them, the plaudits being gathered.......all this is creating an aura of an exciting young team on the move.

This can only be positive for our worldwide profile and commercial prospects.

They are good looking kids who could really put the wow factor into EFC as a new young generation of football fans across the club, the pester power generation, want Lukaky or Gerry shirts and want to bend it like Barkley.

Who knows, a wealthy investor might sit up and take notice of the Del and Rom show and start to look seriously at investing in our club.

No, it's all good as far as I am concerned ;)

I have great hopes for this current team but I know the club will only keep them by putting medals round their necks and kicking down the door to the Top Four so's the Fab Four can lock horns with Europe's finest whilst wearing Eveton shirts.
