The Fab Four

Stones, Lukaku and Barkley left because we cant currently compete for trophies or offer the same sort of wages. We have a long ay to go to close the gap on the current big 6. The key now is how we develop the team going forward we have a squad with a crop of very good young players (Pickford, Kenny, Holgate, Davies, Dowell, Lookman, vlasic and Calvin-Lewin) that all good develop in to top players as good as the 4 we have lost. We now need a manager that can give these lads the confidence to go and play football the right way but striking a balance between defence and attack. Its going to take a couple of years to develop them but we have the potential for an excellent side in the future.

My current concern is the size of our squad and the number of players on big wages that are going to prevent these lads from getting the game time they need. If we don't make the Europa league we will need a big clear out in the summer and I just hope we have a manger that has the strength of character to do what needs to be done. We cant afford to keep any players for sentiment sake. Baines, Williams, Jags, Besic, Mccarthy, Mirallas and Niasse all need to be shown the door.

Id like to see Sandro and Klasseen given at least until the summer but they have to be given game time to help them. I worry that our current style of play doesn't suite them and they could be sold at a lose when they really just need a manager that wants to keep the ball down and use player movement instead of direct balls.
Mate there is light years between those players and the ones we lost. They were all younger in Martinez's first year than than almost all you mentioned. We needed a large scale investment in his first window and instead we sold Stones to fund trasfers and hired a DOF known for finding gems and the Dutch Moyes.

This was the plan all along.

Stones needs a very specific type of team and we weren't it
Lukaku is a tit of the highest order and my guess is he will agitate for another move before long. We weren't ever keeping him for his whole career no matter how well we did.
Deulofeu is clearly just not very good. He's talented but in an actual match he too often is detrimental to his team.
Barkley hasn't progressed much from where he was 3 years ago but is still solid enough. Sadly it appears he would rather be one of the homegrown players who makes up the numbers and maybe picks up the occasional medal. Can't say he's wrong and if that's what he wants we can't stop him either really
This really. NEA he's leaving TBH

I am not talking about those 4 from across the park I am referring 4 young talents we had at our club all but gone in the space of 2 years.

Barkley, Lukaku, John Stones, Deulofeu.

Two left because we couldn’t match their ambitions, one because he’s a rat and the other well wasn’t rated by ham shank head.

Isn’t it worrying we haven’t kept any?

I think this points to far deeper problems.

Let's hope we keep these Fab Four....

T Davies,DCL,M Holgate & Lookman as all these youngsters have tremendous potential...

Wouldnt use the word tremendous as in potential for dlc. Reckon he will be an average front man but will make a career out of it. Davies could be an excellent box to box player alright and even though he has to learn to keep possession he has the essentials for that position. Holgate will make it as a center half. Maybe a very good one. Lookman us a worry as he might nit get the game time to develop and i can see him moving on in 2 to 3 years nit having played many matches. I would live to see him get 90 mins every game until this nothing season finishes to give him time on the pitch.

Would not count two of them as much of a miss myself. It's all an agent's merry-go-round with Signing on fees etc. It happens to every team if the players feather bed is not perfect everyday. They all want teams to match their ambition but I think Ross, Lukaku and Deulofeo are not as good as their own ambition anyway.
