But why?

I wouldn't get on Tesco's board because I shop there.

I think Moshiri has badly misjudged being an Everton fan as being a prerequisite. I mean, this was January;

^ It's absolute nonsense.

Rules of the club to have a boardroom of people with roots in Liverpool?

It was the same of Benitez, "he knew the city"

Probably written by Bill and attributed to Moshiri…..

I wouldn't be against a Cahill coming onto the board, known world wide, connections throughout the game, business connections in the Mid East where his school are based not long retired in comparison to someone like Sharp...don't get me wrong am struggling to think of anyone else after that.

I have not taken too much interest in his career since retiring would he really be a good asset to the Everton Board.

Diverts attention away from him. That's the only reason why.

He tried to keep his head down and Everton out of the limelight so he could keep a source of UK income for his boss.

Just listened to talk sport. I wish an Everton fan who knew what they was talking about phoned in. Worse still liverpool fans who we don’t care apparently his own words but still phone in about Everton it was a terrible listen really.

It was painful. The first caller (over 70) was spot on the second caller I think agreed but those after come out with "Bills a blue".

It was horrible listening to Jordan rant like his opinion is the almighty and ours is irrelevant.

I was cringing listening to it. First fella was ok but really need someone to go on there and nail it. Pretty sure Carlin was one of the callers too. Absolute bootlicker.

Maybe, though I'd be inclined to say that if they work correctly, then the fans are represented through FAB/Fans Forum etc.
A fan representative on the board would be the ideal scenario, in my opinion.

I think that works to both offer a genuine olive branch to the fanbase, while also allowing the rest of the board to be drawn from any background to focus on what they are good at.

It gives meaningful representation without the pervading cosy, local, small-time mindset that has held us back for so long.

listened to it too. The problem is as soon as they get someone on who knows what they're talking about and starts biting back with facts, they cut them off, peddle the same "bullied out of the club they love" nonsense and then get on another calling that supports their narrative.

I used to think similar, but not sure it would be meaningful if their place was dictated as being there to represent fans - especially now there's meant to be fan advisory board etc.

I think any effective board is well aware and tuned into fans (or customers). If they're not, they shouldn't be there.

I don’t know. Success isn’t all about directly pleasing the fans. At least, not in the short term.

Not everyone on the board ought to be thinking about what we want to hear. Sentiment needs balance with cold, hard business heads with a long-term vision.

As far as I’m concerned, the fan advisory board is tokenistic and an outright failure in its present incarnation. You only need look at the biggest rift between club heirachy and fans in history to see that.

I think a representative on the actual board would be far more meaningful.

It was an audio interview.

For whatever reason, Moshiri thinks Everton fans want/demand Evertonians with deep roots to Liverpool to be running the club.

Bill’s fingerprints all over this……tbf no doubt many of us wanted our club to be as we knew it, pre-bill, but also the fans have watched the growth of other clubs and have long twigged that we needed a more professional set up, no jobs for the boys, no jobs because someone is nice. Hopefully, but we’ve had our hopes dashed before, we now get the professional board the club needs to exist and compete in this modern age….

This. Don't want any of our (proud) nut jobs anywhere near the running of the club.

Run it like a proper successful business and we wont need FAB or anything of the sort.
