Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian

The Unobstructed View
Whilst waiting in the reception of Goodison on saturday, in the presence of Graeme Sharp, Derek Mountfield (who in the absence of his moustache, i was doing an 'i know that face') and Dave Hickson, in walks one of my first Everton heroes, the man who had me holding the cuffs of my replica kit whenever i was playing football....Duncan McKenzie.
He turned towards me so i had to seize the moment whilst it was there, "Duncan" i said shaking his hand, "I know why you are here today", "go on then" he said, "To present Fellaini with the Duncan McKenzie Award for The most Outrageous Act of Flamboyancy at Goodison Park. it would've been quite easy to go all bleurr bleeurgh can't get my words out or make a total fool of myself in such a situation, but it went down well and he told me how things like that just leave a stadium spellbound and stay in the memories of all that witness them forever, he was in total agreement that Fellaini takes the prize.

When I was a kid, My mum organised a women's football team to raise money for charity. Got duncan over to Birkenhead to take the kick off in one of the games. It was a cold day but he hung around long enough to sign a few autographs, including one for me (which I later lost- Grrr) , before making a sharpish exit. My first football hero

His Maqine Road nut megging of Tommy Smith is still fresh in my mind..........on his day a stunning player. That said his best ever performance at GP was for Forest against Newcastle in the cup, he was enormous that day

Wasn't there some incident with him jumping over a Mini on a motorcycle years back, was it for charity or something, bit hazy now.

i think he vaulted a mini as it was driving towards him. I don't think that would be allowed these days somehow.

Quality player, good after dinner speaker too, he tell sone of Bob latchford slotting the ball goalwards for what would have been his 4th of the game and Dunc nips in and taps it in instead and Big Bob chases him round the pitch as mad as a box of frogs

seem to recall he had some form of record for throwing a golf ball

he hurdled a mini on the cinder track at elland road, also threw golf balls the length of the pitch and over the top of the stand.
