they've somehow managed to become part of popular culture, to the point that most foreigners who aren't big into football are aware of them...i think they timed their 60's success well with The Beatles phenomenon.
Yip.....that is exactly what it was, Doc......yet they were no more successful than we were during the lifespan of The Beatles.
We had two League titles and an F.A. Cup.....they had about the same.
Plus they had a Second Divusion title, which we never had a chance to win

But the city of Liverpool became synonymous with the nascent Swinging Sixties and the eponymous football team rode the wave better than us with their Ee Aye Addio and their rent a gob but nonetheless charismatic manager.
