The demise of Facebook

I read something recently where a 'futurist' predicted that by 2022 Facebook would be known as 'Instagram' and within the next decade we wouldn't be using either. I deactivated my account a while ago, mainly because I was sick of looking at it, also because of I am unsure of what they will do with my data.

So with the demise of Facebook, it is time to plan it's replacement. Who wants to be a tech-billionaire?

I'll be it.

I'll design a social media platform identical to Facebook that you pay a yearly subscription of 10 Dollars for and we guarantee you never see adverts or have your data shared.

I know for a modest tenner most people would be up for that.

How many users does Facebook have? 2 billion? If we take get 5% of their users in that's 100,000,000 users at 10 Dollars each, 1 billion Dollars.

Premium plans available for extra features such as uploading and storing files (like Google Drive), and searching and applying for jobs (like LinkedIn).

Don't make something new, just take something existing and make it better.

Still a lot of people on FB though. Same as ever, young adopters jump programmes/apps as soon as their parents (and, in FB's case, grandparents) get on it.

Newish one on the block appears to be TikTok.

Never been on FB until recently when we moved to NZ and the family said setup a FB account so we can keep in touch and see photos etc. Signed up and within a day they disabled my account. When I queried it they said it was because I was impersonating myself...WTF

Done me a favour to be fair...24 hours on it and I can see there’s a lot of shabite on it

I only use it to look for second hand things on the marketplace.

I also said happy birthday to my auntie yesterday... But that was only because my dad told me to.

I got tired of everyone writing their life story on their posts, updates on pointless things thinking anyone would give a damn.
