England don't have players to sell...

I don't think you can take a bank debt figure from 18 months ago, apply these monies to that, and say the debt is in half. That doesn't seem like a well-thought out process, no.

Damon will sort this conundrum out. If he says it's halved, it's halved.

I've heard that Bolton are around £90m in debt, so why no pressure off the Bank for them to sell assets. Ok so they obviously wanted to cash in on Cahill (but failed) and it might come back to bite them. However, they still bought Ngog for £4m. They get lower gates than us, have consistently been below us in the league over the past few years, and yet seem to be in a better position than us finacially. Just using Bolton as an example, as there are alot of other Prem clubs in debt as well. So why the big pressure on us?

Dont know mate. I can only think that they have fixed assets such as their own new(ish) ground and training facilities etc they secure loans against. Our assets are in blue jerseys and that's what's been called in.

Cheers Fella. Good point. I supppose as we've used up all our 'assets' outside of playing staff we're 'not good for the money' at this time. Still think we're being unfairly pressured a bit though. Hopefully we've reduced our wage bill sufficiently to ease the pressure for a while. Worried for the future though if this continues (2 or 3 years from now).

think its there owner mate, puts his money were his mouth is, but i do know they tried to get a further 9 million last year and didnt get it, so lets see how that pans out

If its halved Everton is in a great position, to the rumours about the new finacial rules from UEFA next year.. And I hope Everton won't go to a sheik yerbouti, like Man sh1ty because that will destroy what I love about the club

Probably about right there mate. We've had a big blood letting this summer. I reckon that might suffice in terms of hacking away at squad size at least for a couple of seasons...all things remaining the same, of course - you never know, this board of directors might come up with a plan to actually generate money and improve matters...theoretically like!
