A real hard knock on the pitch.
Remember him and Franny Lee going toe to toe at the Baseball Ground. Blood pouring from facial injuries on the two of them. The ref brought the two of them together gave them a talking to. That's all, not even booked.
Thanks for the memories. By all accounts a good bloke off the pitch.
RIP.

Thought the ref sent them both off and as they walked off they started fighting again. Was a very good defender.

....sad news about Norman Hunter. Everton and Leeds were great rivals and out on their own around 1970. Games against them were highly competitive to say the least, and Norman Hunter was a tough opponent.
He was an animal Eggs -awful player showed when he played for England never any class in him other than chopping players down at will .....

Was far better than most recall mate. His reputation came first.
I seen him play v us home and away - a waste high tackle on HK cutting him in half meant he had to leave the pitch - an over the top Tackle on Moggsy who again had to go off for us never even got booked for.....he was not the only bite your legs player around at the time but it proved stepping up to play football for England he was not up to it........
RIP all the same tnough
