Me and the wife went to see his show once after seeing him on Most Haunted, we sort of thought it was going to be a fun, jokey affair. The whole audience other than us was there to talk to loved ones who had died, they had posters and items of clothing belonging to these people. Thy did not take kindly to us getting battered and howling with laughter as Derek did the "I am getting the name John, is there a John connected to any one here..."
I bet there was though.

I remember going to a TV recording of 'A night with Doris Stokes' many years ago. We, my mates and I, went because my mate, a Psychology student, got free tickets and thought it would be a laugh.The host asked who had read her latest book. Almost everyone put their hands up. Gullible, gullible people.

Absolutely, but they genuinely thought they were in with a chance of contacting a lost loved one. Quite tragic really.
 

Edd Byrnes has died aed 87, he played Vince Fontaine in "Grease," and was in TV shows like "77 Sunset Strip"
