...there have been 3 that I can think of, including this one. There are no reports that I have seen on the cause of death for this poor fella but I dare say that will be known shortly.

All the articles I've read about this have all had links to lifeline and beyond blue so unfortunately it looks like depression may have claimed another life. RIP Dan.

Clyde Stubblefield, James Brown drummer and the creator of the 'Funky Drummer' break (apparently the most sampled drum break in hip-hop).

Died of kidney failure, 73 years young. The world just got a little less funky...

Sad outcome for Steve Hewlett. I heard a few of his weekly chats with Eddie Marr, and he dealt with his illness with great bravery and dignity. One's dignity is often one of the earliest victims of that tw@t of a disease, and he fought a good fight. RIP.

Apropos of nothing, this is an interesting video about the Amen Break, which is effectively the basis of all DnB tracks in the early 90s.
