was gonna say before i noticed the link, that it'll be that red dust youve got over there.
sometimes we wake up to cars covered in dust, that has apparently come from the sahara. it has rained tropical frogs as well.
i always remember this in sydney...

wouldve been early '95, the place just reeked beyond belief of fire. i went to places surrounded by burnt black forest, that was regrowing within weeks, right on the outskirts of the city though.

thats me on the left btw, on the roof of the backpackers, took ages to get the smell out of my locks.

95 was intense. I grew up on the Central Coast and people were evacuated everywhere. My mate and his family came to live with us, and we were listening to reports of the fires getting closer. I always remember walking home from school one afternoon, the sky was blood red and there were burnt embers floating in the air. The footy field at the back of our house was used as a chopper base.

Nope this is the up the duff beautician missus. The soul mate teacher missus and the perfect missus have been superceded.

In all honesty she wanted it the most and beat the others out. Fair play to her.
 

Nearly went to live in Australia just after being born as one of the 'ten pound poms', but me ma said I was too young to go, so me da stayed working for Del Monte.

So the man from Del Monte he say NO.
 
we were all getting parents calling us, as the newspaper headline over here was "Sydney Burns" and a pic looking across the harbour with flames behind buildings.
i saw a few fires up north as well, we had to drive where they were back burning at the side of the road... on both sides. you could feel the heat as the flames must have been 20 feet high, and the road wasnt too wide either.

i noticed at the end of those pics theres a link for "national go topless day", it would be rude not to look really.
