They used to say of the 1960s that if you could remember them, you weren’t there. The same principle also applies to Wimbledon’s home game against Everton on 26 January, 1993. The reason, however, is nothing to do with intoxication or spiritual awakening. It’s because there was barely anyone there to remember it in the first place. The match boasted a crowd of just 3,036, the smallest in Premier League history.

Anyone on here go to this?

Couldn't get a ticket.......

I was there! Still got the ticket stub somewhere.

They battered us in the first half, then we scored 3 in about 10 mins in the second half. Job done.

Some many memories of that utterly bizarre night, but the best will always remain the sight of an angry Big Nev having to trudge up the steps of the vast empty terrace behind the goal because no ball boys were on duty there!! Over the advertising hoardings, through the open terrace fence gate, up the steps...not happy he was!

It was so quiet that night, parked up in a road right next to the ground, just 25 mins or so before KO. We were meant to stand on the old open terrace behind the goal, but the stewards put us in the corner of the Arthur Waites stand instead and let us sit for the same price as standing!

I remember Shoot or that footy facts thing you used to get with the pools reckoning we played a wartime fixture v Leicester at Old Trafford & the official attendance was 14 or something ?

less than a 1,000 I'd say

we also took a similar number to the second league game at the old den

That 2nd league game at the old Den was perhaps only 500-600. There were only 13 of us who went down by train that night - 1 got nicked as soon as we got off the tube at New Cross Gate, so only 12 on the one back afterwards lol

Went to that game as well, surely more than 500-600 though? Closest I have ever come to getting my head kicked in at a game, up near New Cross as well!lol Frightening place.

Yep, from memory I would hazard about 800 or so. The rest of the AW Stand was empty, as was all of the old open terracing bar a few on the Wimbledon side of it. The home stand next to it, maybe up to a couple of hundred at most along the entire length. The Wimbledon end behind the goal (where Seamus scored on Sat) was quite well populated, say about 2k in there.

I was expecting a Chelsea type response to the question.
You know their low attendance of around six thousand at Stamford Bridge is often mentioned, yet if you believe all their fans who claimed to be there as a badge of honour, the gate was about 40,000.

I honestly don't think we had 1k there.

As for 'outside', they were waiting for us after the previous season's escapades; a dozen or so wasn't what they were expecting! I remember it going as soon as we walked out the station but the bizzies were onto it in no time.
