The "Buzz"

This is the 'buzz' I feel right now I know we're only a few games into the season but I feel we could go on and do something really good, maybe even do a Leicester???? how boss would that be...

That buzz for me is back as well, I think this is mainly because we have genuine world class manager who has organised the team, has a clear vision, not scared of changing things early in matches to get result, and most importantly is clear with th fans about where we are going. He could be an all time great.

There was a buzz under Martinez. The summer after his first season, the big European wins, Wolfsburg twice etc... can we please stop with the rewriting of history now?

Martinez came in, had a boss first season and had us playing boss football. Then he got found out and wouldn't adapt and we went into sharp decline until it cost him his job.

Right now I'm optimistic and happy with the progress being made in what is really a transitional season. I actually don't have 'the buzz' yet.

Who's re-writing history? This is personal experience. We were good in Martinez' first season, doesn't mean everybody was buzzing though, or connected to the club.

I didn't mean you in particular, friend. There is a lot of it going on though.

I really enjoyed Martinez first season though I still found his post match interviews sometimes difficult to connect with. I was as gutted as any blue that the early promise fell into chaos and abject rubbish but I suppose I should not have been too surprised.

In no way am I viewing Koeman as the saviour and man to lead us to all conquering glory, but he talks very sensibly about our aims and capabilities. He has instilled a real belief, not one built on buzzwords and hopeful feelgood factors and I believe he instills belief that we can go out and win every game.

He is willing to make bold decisions in games and so far has shown how to tilt finely balanced games in our favour.
Even the honesty of not being fully fit for Spurs was a clear indication that he knows what we should be capable of.

I feel excited about watching Everton play football again and that is a great feeling.

If we lose to Boro Saturday the doom mongers will be out in full force.

We have played 2 league games at home so far and have yet to look completely convincing. Every game is a challenge in this league. I do feel that we have a good manager in charge though. Even Royle lost the occasional game badly during his purple patch in 94/95. Boxing day to Sheffield Wednesday was horrendous but you still knew he would sort it. That is how I view Koeman.

I'm still open to the idea of this being a transitional season. These aren't Koeman's players and clearly he doesnt think much of quite a few of them.

I'm not caught up in this talk of Europe I don't think that's us just yet. Let him shift out the likes of Koné and Gibson and have Steve Walsh replace them with more of the likes of Gana. Then we'll see where we're at.

I am sat here trying to kill a bit of time and now I notice I've spent 20 minutes on YouTube just looking at all and anything Everton. I find myself singing along with some fan chants :)
Please tell me you are on the beak. Sober this is bad kopite behaviour.

It's too early for expectations, but that buzz of "maybe" is the bare minimum we should aim for.

Far better than "ffs, not looking forward to the next game at all"

Well paint me red then. When a good chant gets under my skin I suddenly find myself liking the song it's based on.

There's no other logical reason for me humming the heartbeat song at work.
I can't get it out of my head. Found myself singing it on my bike on the way to work, then realise and start laughing. Must look like a nutter.
