What does a ‘global’ fan base have to do with the numbers turning up at the ground. These gazillions of Chinese and Malaysians within their global fan bases don’t actually go to the match. Everton are consistently selling out at 40K even when the only available tickets for non STH’s are pretty crap. A nice shiny new stadium, with proper facilities, and not the crap that exists in the likes of lower Bullens, will transform our club and bring back people who would want to go but are unable to get anything like a decent view. It will also bring in thousands of kids from around Merseyside and get the support base regenerated. Like I said I don’t think 60K will happen, but those of us who have seen the blues pick up a fair few titles and cups will never accept that this ‘elite’ won’t change again......

Just say we got our own version of the class of 92 and added 5/6 quality players , then we’d be boss again.
I’d Dave is right and we build a stadium and Mosh sells up and some oil state buys us then we could rule for a few years and 60k wouldn’t be big enough

It's an interesting debate this. I think a tight, steep, intimidating ground would be better for Everton. This talk of 60k plus purely to make it bigger than another ground in the city is ridiculous. Look again what Juventus have done. Go similar - but give an option for expansion.

To be honest with the location, I'm not sure if there would be all that much room for over 5o-55k anyway.

The problem will have is that to make the Corporate offering you have to be in the Champions League and competing for titles. Manchester City's Tunnel Club is up to £20k p.a. Liverpool and Manchester are provincial cities. The corporate hospitality market is limited and only works if you have a really good side. Half of City's match-day revenue comes from corporate hospitality but that market would vanish overnight if they weren't successful.

Seems a tad daft to login and then ask someone else to post something for you, but it ain't breaking any rules, and I can kind of understand why Esk choose to do so, but I do think it'd be better if he just posted his own stuff.

His model's fairly flawed by the way, but, putting that to one side, I'd say the minimum capacity for the new ground is roughly 55k.
I worked this out on the back of a fag packet with some help from holding a wet finger up in the air, but I believe my underlying methodology is sound.

I thought this was standard, industry wide practice for all business models involving consultants ( who don't forget are only it for their own profit margins)
 

Don't go 60K just b/c everyone else is. 45-50K is fine, you want something special make it a bit smaller and unique. The money is in TV/Russians/Oil Shieks now. We'll actually probably pull in less money for a decade or so after this thing gets built.
 
50-60k with perhaps the potential to expand is fine. The stadium itself simply isn't going to transform us into a CL club and when all is said and done match-day revenue isn't the be all and end all anymore. Research any of the top clubs in Europe, especially Bayern and Dortmund and you'll see that their revenue stream and income comes from TV Money but also all sorts of global sources and different marketing and investment strategies. And they don't milk their fans dry with their ticket prices. A shiny new stadium will enable us to generate more corporate revenue and make us a marginally more attractive club but people deluding themselves that it'll transform us are going to be severely disappointed. Stamford Bridge is a pretty poor ground but it has served Chelsea pretty well these last 15 years since Abramovich came in and that's because it's investment on the field that really counts.

Furthermore our global marketing game and strategy is abysmal (our own shirt sponsor takes the piss out of us on social media). We can mock other clubs all we want for their "tourists", but those tourists spend money on full kits and all sorts of useless junk no-one needs putting money into the club. People are also kidding themselves if they think we're filling a plus 60k stadium with English season ticket prices with people only occupying an L postcode. Embrace globalism people, it's the way things are now.
