Like all empires the British Empire did a lot of good and a lot of bad. Getting rid of practices such as Sati and introducing rail networks and sanitation to certain parts of the world was great, but the discrimination and the violence was not.

I'm just glad that we now live in an age of self-determination and that empires are a thing of the past.
