The Boys of '66

From experience, 2010 will go down as the worst of my lifetime, only Germany entertained.

Football historians and journalists have also said 1962 and 1990 were both horrendous too. So that's three right there which were far worse than 1966.

I guess it's about opinion, being Irish 1990 was fantastic, 62, like I said Vava, Garincha - that Brazilan team were amazing to watch, I was New York for 2010, so I enjoyed that saw the emergence of some trually wonderfull players also the start of the power move away from European teams IMO which is great for the game

England fans around at the time also look back at 90 with misty eyed nostalgia similar to your good self, but as a whole it is widely regarded as one of the worst of all time, if not the worst.

The only things about 2010 I can remember with any great clarity is Germany stuffing England and Argentina, Tsubalalalala and lastly my favourite player of the past ten years or so - Iniesta. Oh and De Jong giving Alonso a karate kick.

IMO 2006 was crap as well. Really dire and defensive football from nearly everyone, as if people just saw Greece at Euro 2004 and decided to play more or less the same type of football.

Don't know mate 1990 had: Gullit, Maradona, Klinsman, Matthaus, Schifo, Schillachi, Maldini, Baresi. Van Basten, Rijkaard,
Stoijkovic, Cannigia, Hagi, Savicevic, Poseneski, Linekar, Gazza, Baggio. Cameroon was great fun and even Scotland were there. The final was gash mind.

I didn't mind 2010, like I say it was the first time we saw the likes of Suarez, Ozil, Mueller come onto the world stage. I thought it was great the European teams getting stuffed and other countries from different continents shifting the FIFA bias. Those vuvlahas said well. I Wa in the states at the time and they did well so that might color it for me.

Lid, 90 was crap.

2006 was decent enough. A fair Keira Knightly, slightly above average but you so would.

2010 was probably the ginger one from Girls Aloud before the group was formed, 1990 was pure Dawn Fench.

One of the mysteries unless I have missed something very obvious is the lack of recognition Ray Wilson gets from Evertonians.

We talk more of having a semi final at Goodison than we do of having a World Cup winning left back.

Why is that?

1) We think we don't need to restate the ******* obvious? that for a couple of years Ray Wilson was almost universally acknowledged as the best LB in the World....'Those who know etc. etc.'

2) We all know that football didn't start until 1992 and nobody under 55+ would've seen him play.

2a) Everton are the only club to have hosted TWO CONSECUTIVE World Cup semi's
