All the same clubs. Go back a bit further and you might include Leeds.

I was looking at the shirt deals in this article which probably reflect a club's status. Chelsea get a lot more than I thought: £60m compared to Liverpool on £25m

Another way of looking at is by revenue:

Man Utd revenues are £581m, City's £475m, Newcastle £126m, Everton £122m

Aston Villa are a bigger club than Newcastle overall, were 10 years ago, and I would only have them below Newcastle at this current moment as Villa have stayed in the second tier whist Newcastle got promoted.

In 10-15 years, it wouldn't surprise me to hear most people saying Chelsea (and maybe Man City) are bigger than Liverpool. Both of those are way ahead of us at the moment due to our lack of general success but the RS haven't done anything of note for years now either and haven't won the league in the last 25 years.

Proper big clubs from that list
Arsenal
Man utd
Everton
No seriously
I can remember all the others bar the rs being relegated
Remembering the rs where nothing till themid 70s
And they haven't won the league In a lifetime
As haven't spurs
Newcastle similar

If we were to go on the drive time debate and method they use, guys we aren't there. If we were purely to go on league finishes it's about right. I think we'll finish above 17th looking at the table trying to lift my hopes we aren't that far off a top ten spot. We win Sunday we're above Leicester so not all bad in the 1st half last night they did play some nice footie so don't expect it to last long

There’s a big 3 now that’s it. If Bale Griezmann Ronaldo Dybala etc. came on the market now then Arsenal Spurs and Liverpool would not even be in the conversation. Spurs and Liverpool have won less combined in the last ten years than United have in their ‘fallow period’ since Ferguson retired. There’s 3 mega clubs in this country and 2 media darlings constantly talked up above their station. Arsenal have the resources to be on one side of the line but choose to slum it with Liverpool and Spurs for some reason.

Everton is not exactly a top club. A middle club, sure, but no where near Man.U, Chelsea, etc.

There is the top six aka. plastic clubs, and then there are the middle aka. Interesting clubs, where Everton belong.

Indeed.

The whole RS legend is based around a glittering era of dominance between 1976 and 1984 when they swept all before them.

Their biggest rivals in that period were Ipswich Town and Forest :(

The traditional powerhouses of Everton, Arsenal and United were all in the doldrums for most of that time.

By 1985 they had all started getting competitive again and one by one Everton, Arsenal and then United started winning the title again and the RS stranglehold was broken.

But they live in a time warp, unable to accept that 1990 was a last hurrah at the summit ;)

I always judge a team's polarity overseas by the number of Premier league shirts worn by the people milling around after an outrage of a massacre or a bombing.
You rarely see RS. To be honest i cannot recall seeing one. In the main it is now Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal. Tottenham nowhere near as yet or Manchester City.

When we won the league in 1970 we drew level on 7 league titles with Utd, Arsenal and the rs as the 4 most successful league clubs in England

Indeed.

Arsenal won it a year later in 1971 and from then until 1985 when we won it, none of those three teams won it and Liverpool made hay.

With the other traditional title winners in the doldrums, they amassed title after title.

Once we got the act together, quickly followed by Arsenal then Ferguson’s United, their titles started to dry up.
